When the property tax issue was on the last ballot I didn't vote for it. Not because I didn't think it was necessary, but because it wasn't going to be put in a separate account. I, along with many people I talked with, do not trust that money going into a general fund will all be allocated where it should go, and had the potential of being diverted elsewhere. Write a new ballot with protected funds and I will vote for it.

Would re-energizing some volunteer fire services be a way to augment capability and coverage at less cost than increasing only full-time staffing?

Given community resistance to the various efforts to fund increased fire services, I believe that two keys to successful expansion are a )reallocation of funding sources to prioritize essential services first, i.e. fire and law enforcement, then public works, then education, and then non-essential stuff like parks and recreation with what's left, and b) revitalizing the once-proud community tradition of volunteer fire services to augment capability if that can be done at a more effective cost than adding only full-time staff to man the additional stations needed.

Create a survey to determine the method(s) of funding(including fund management) besides raising property taxes, including going to the state to get our fair share of state funding, as has been done by other districts. Do your administrative jobs, and manage funds like a private enterprise must do.

The strategic plan MUST work within the fiscal constraints that are at hand, by changing the fiscal management plan to one of sustainability without putting a burden on the constituents of the ECCC. Reports have shown that ECCFPD receives less per capita funding than the WCCFPD does. ECCFPD needs to go to the state and get their equitable funding, not try to scare the communities into adding still another tax burden to the already heavily taxed residents. We need management that will stand up not only for themselves, as they are so quick to do now, but for the communities they serve, operating like a private enterprise with constrained budgets to work with available funds, and be innovative in doing so.

Must find a way to pass assessment. Many homes are selling for 1 million or more, yet the district hasn't been able to pass assessment. NEED Speakers Bureau to groups in district: summerset, trilogy, PTA, sports, churches, mommies of brentwood etc. Enlist civilians to address their own groups. I am willing to be a speaker.
